Class Requirements

Attendance

Student must attend a minimum of 32 classes AND 16 weeks to be eligible for orange belt testing

Student must show an excellent attitude and always demonstrate a willingness to learn. In addition, student is required to strive to uphold the standards of honesty, modesty, courtesy, integrity, respect, perseverance, courage, and indomitable spirit.

Past Requirements

Students must be able to demonstrate all kicking and hand techniques, stances, combinations, self defense concepts and principles, forms, and answer all questions from previous belt requirements.


Combat Techniques

Kicks

  • Double Front kick

Shoulder Rolls

Combinations

Jab, reverse punch, shuffle back defensive side kick and elbow
Back leg reverse crescent with back leg roundhouse
Step up front leg front kick with back hand hammer fist
Double front kick with reverse punch and back leg side kick

Bag Work

Demonstrate continuous combinations on the stand-alone heavy bag.
7 push ups between rounds.

Self Defense Concepts & Principles

Side Step

Student must understand and be able to demonstrate knowledge of a side-step from both sides.

Student must be able to do a side-step and counter with the following:

  • a hand technique
  • two hand techniques
  • a kicking technique
  • a kicking and hand combination
  • Shuffle step forward and execute “in close” counter

Choke Escape #1

Student must be able to show and demonstrate how to push chin to chest immediately upon a choke attempt

Demonstrate an escape from a choke by sidestepping with your right foot while swinging your left arm over opponents arms and trapping them in your armpit. Execute elbow to face and another counter.

Execute same technique from the left side.
